About the Project

Our plasma science research project is based upon the concept for the gCreation of Innovative Plasma Process Technology and Its Industrial Applicationh that our Faculty of Engineering proposed in a presentation at the Region-Allied Intellectual Property Symposium held in July 2004. For this project concept, we organized a super-interoffice research project team comprised of researchers involved in plasma science.

Later in August when ideas for a high technology research project were solicited in the Faculty of Engineering under the expenses determined at the deanfs discretion, an application was made for the project called the gCreation of Innovative Plasma Process Technology Based Upon Plasma Scienceh with the researchers involved in plasma science in the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering and the associated researchers in the Faculty of Engineering as the members responsible for the research. This application was approved and adopted.

This research project was constituted of three research themes: gResearch in the Creation of Nanoelectronics Materials Such as Nanotubes Fully Employing Innovative Plasma Technology,h gResearch in High Function Thin Film Coating Fully Employing Innovative Plasma CVD Technology,h and gApplication of Plasma Science in Medical and Environmental Fields.h And the project was aimed at acquiring funds from external sources and fostering young researchers as well as obtaining regional cooperation by establishing a new interdisciplinary research area within the Faculty of Engineering based upon plasma science as shown below.

In addition, for the academic year 2004 the researchers belonging to the Faculty of Science, Research Institute of Electronics, and Innovation Joint Research Center were called upon for cooperation in order to achieve success in this research project, thereby making preparations for building up a cross-sectional research system.
